Welcome to Year 5
Parent Booklet (112KB) .
Our Teacher is Miss Nixon and our Teaching Assistants are Mrs Oliver and Mrs Meakin (SEN). We are also very lucky to have Mrs Reed who is our Teacher on Thursday afternoons, and Mrs Jubb who teaches us French on Thursdays.
During the summer term, we take part in a three-day residential trip to a PGL centre. This gives pupils the chance to try out both land and water based activities and to build their confidence. It is a fantastic learning experience as well as being great fun!
Our PE slots are Tuesday and Thursday, but we ask that children leave their PE kits in school, as times can change at short notice. PE will be outside as much as possible this term, please make sure your child has jogging bottoms as well as shorts in case the weather is chilly. They must also keep trainers or plimsolls in school as part of their PE kit.
During the Autumn Term our topics are:
Science: Life Cycles - We will be looking at the life cycle of plants and humans. In our investigations we plant seeds and watch them develop through the different stages of the life cycle.

During the Spring Term our topics are:
