Gardening Club

In Gardening Club we work hard to improve and maintain the raised beds which we aim to grow fruit and vegetables in to share with the whole school. We will also continue to plant seasonal bulbs and plants around the school as well as making a bug house out of recycled materials.

We enter into annual gardening competitions. This year How Wood won first prize in the Inter Schools competition run by St Stephens Gardening Club and we were named runners up for our vibrant vegetables in the District Schools in Bloom competition run by St Albans District Council.

If you would like your child to be part of the Gardening Club, please contact the school office for a form. (This is a very popular club and therefore spaces are limited).

Eco-Schools Awards

Our school has achieved the Bronze and Silver Eco-Schools Awards which has helped to improve the school environment as well as raise awareness of other environmental issues within our community.
